CHP searching for road rage suspect who attacked woman

LONG BEACH — Authorities are searching for a man who attacked a female driver during a road rage incident on the 605 Freeway.

The attack occurred May 10 at approximately 7:55 p.m., authorities said Monday. After a hit-and-run collision on the southbound 605 Freeway at Spring Street, both vehicles - a white Chevy Silverado and a Nissan sedan — exited the freeway at Willow Street in Long Beach.

The driver of the Nissan approached the female Silverado driver and attacked her with a tire iron, striking her in the face, chest and arms. The attacker got back into his Nissan and fled.

The victim sustained serious injuries and is still recovering.

The Nissan was described as a late model white four-door sedan, possibly a Sentra, Altima or Maxima, with a pink Lyft light on the passenger side windshield. Witnesses provided a partial license plate of either 8***413, 8***423, 8***415 or 8***425.

The suspect was described as black, approximately 40 years old, with a full beard, black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark blue beanie with a white stripe, a blue shirt, black basketball shorts, and white tennis shoes.
