City hosting home decoration contest

DOWNEY – Downey is again hosting its Holiday Home Decorating Contest, and there is only one week left to enter. A panel of judges will visit participating homes on Dec. 4 between 5:30-10:30 p.m.

Categories include Best Use of Lights, Most Energy Efficient, Winter Wonderland, Best Lawn Display, Best Religious Display, Most Original Holiday Display, Best Animated Display, Santa’s Workshop, and Best Christmas Tree Window Display.

Best Overall entry and Honorable Mention will be awarded per category.

Entry forms are available at the Barbara J. Riley Center and online at downeyca.org. Deadline to enter is 5 p.m. Nov. 29.

An awards ceremony will be held Dec. 8 at City Hall.
