Thursday, May 27At 7 p.m., officers responded to Staples Office Supply, located at 12070 Lakewood Boulevard, regarding a theft. Two suspects ran up to the victim and grabbed an iPod out of his hand, then fled the scene. Saturday, May 29 At 11:55 a.m., officers responded to the 11200 block of Quinn, regarding a residential burglary. Suspects took approximately $10,000 in currency and jewelry. At 10:30 p.m., officers responded to a traffic collision at the intersection of Firestone and Pangborn. A pedestrian was walking across Firestone Blvd. and was struck by a tractor/trailer traveling eastbound on Firestone. The pedestrian is listed in critical but stable condition. Sunday, May 30 At 3:40 a.m., officers responded to the 12000 block of Bellflower Blvd. regarding an armed robbery. The victim parked his vehicle and began walking when the suspect approached and struck him in the face with a handgun. The suspect forcibly removed the victim's necklace and cell phone and fled. Monday, May 31 At 6:45 p.m., several suspects forcibly removed a gold necklace from the victim's neck as he was walking in the 8400 block of Firestone. The suspects fled the scene in a red truck. Tuesday, June 1 At 5:35 a.m., officers responded to the 7700 block of Ciro regarding a residential burglary. The homeowner saw the suspect exiting his garage with power tools. The suspect was detained by the homeowner and subsequently arrested for burglary. At 12:10 p.m., officers responded to Don Roberto's Jewelers located in the Stonewood Center regarding a robbery. The suspect asked to see two engagement rings then ran out of the store holding both rings. The suspect entered a two-door black sedan and drove away, out of sight. At 6:25 p.m., officers responded to the area of Downey and Alameda regarding an armed robbery. The victim was walking southbound on Downey Avenue when a red truck pulled along side of him. One suspect exited the passenger door holding a handgun and took the victims iPod. Both suspects fled south on Downey Avenue out of sight. Courtesy Downey Police Department
