Crime Report, April 12

Friday, April 1:
At 1:30 a.m., officers briefly pursued a stolen car from Paramount & the I-5 Freeway to the CVS parking lot at Paramount & Florence where the driver surrendered and was taken into custody for grand theft auto.

Saturday, April 2:
At 3:00 p.m., a vehicle caught fire in the storage lot at United Tow (11530 Ryerson). The fire was near a trailer with propane, so nearby residences located behind the properties were temporarily evacuated as a precaution. At least two vehicles were destroyed in the fire. Downey Fire is investigating the cause.

Sunday, April 3:
At 5:30 a.m., a man riding his bicycle in the 9800 block of Imperial was approached by two men who brandished a handgun. The two suspects then stole the bicyclist’s cell phone and keys before driving away in a black colored car. Detectives are investigating.

At 7:00 a.m., officers responded to a disturbance between a husband and wife at the Glen Bar (7356 Stewart & Gray). Officers ultimately arrested the woman for outstanding warrants.
