Crime Report: July 2, 2026

► June 21, 2026 – Approximately 9:15 a.m.

Officers responded to the 9300 block of Dinwiddie Street following reports of shots fired during a confrontation between a homeowner and an individual who had unlawfully entered the property. The suspect fled the area before officers arrived. Detectives later identified the suspect. The suspect was taken into custody following a pursuit involving multiple law enforcement agencies. The suspect was transported to a local hospital for treatment prior to booking.

► June 22, 2026 - approximately 1:35 a.m.

Officers responded to reports of shots fired in the area of 3rd Street and La Reina Avenue. Officers confirmed evidence of a shooting and located the adult male suspect nearby. He was arrested for illegally discharging a firearm. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.

► June 22, 2026 – Approximately 6:55 p.m.

Officers responded to the 12800 block of Downey Avenue regarding a burglary in progress. The suspect was confronted by residents while committing a theft from a vehicle and threatened the victims with a weapon before attempting to flee. The suspect was detained at the scene until officers arrived, arrested, and transported to a local hospital for treatment before booking.

► June 23, 2026 – Approximately 8:00 p.m.

Officers responded to the 9300 block of Gotham Street regarding a residential burglary. Unknown suspect(s) entered the residence, stole property, and fled the area before officers arrived. The investigation is ongoing.

►June 25, 2026 – Approximately 1:45 a.m.

Officers responded to the 8400 block of Cherokee Drive regarding suspicious individuals in the rear yard engaged in sexual relations. The suspects were unknown to the resident. Officers contacted the two individuals who were later arrested without incident.
