Crime Report: July 9, 2025

  • On June 23 at 8:55 pm, officers responded to the area of Lakewood Blvd. and Imperial Hwy. regarding an assault with a deadly weapon. The victim stated the suspect, a known acquaintance, pulled alongside her while driving and pointed a handgun at her. The suspect left the scene and was not located. Detectives are investigating.

  • On June 25 at 11:10 pm, officers responded to the area of 8900 Apollo Way regarding a robbery. The victim stated the suspect was arguing with the victim when he forced his way into the victim’s vehicle and stole her property. The suspect was located in the area and arrested.

  • On June 28 at 9:20 pm, officers responded to the area of Florence Ave. and Newville Ave. regarding a robbery. The victims stated the suspects hit the victim with an unknown object, took the victim’s property and fled the scene in a vehicle. Detectives are investigating.

  • On June 29 at 4:20 pm, officers responded to the area of 7300 Florence Ave. regarding reports of a shooting. Officers were flagged down in the area of Florence Ave. and Brookshire Ave. and located a victim with a gunshot wound and a firearm in his possession. The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment. Detectives are investigating.

  • On June 30 at 8:25 pm, officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Downey Ave. and Stewart and Gray Rd. During a search of the vehicle, a loaded firearm was located. The front passenger, a 23-year-old male Pico Rivera resident, admitted ownership of the firearm and was arrested.

  • On July 3 at 3:30 pm, officers on patrol conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Prichard Ave. and Barlin Ave. During a search of the vehicle, a loaded firearm was located, as well as a large quantity of narcotics. The occupants of the vehicle, a 19-year-old male Downey resident, a 19-year-old male Paramount resident and an 18-year-old male Paramount resident, were arrested.

  • On July 6 at 5:35 am, officers responded to the area of 12000 Paramount Blvd. regarding an armed robbery. The victim stated the suspect entered the business, pointed a handgun at the victim and demanded money. The suspect fled the scene in an unknown direction. Detectives are investigating.

  • On July 6 at 7:35 pm, officers responded to the area of Lakewood Blvd. and Alameda St. regarding a sexual battery. The victim stated the suspect, a 52-year-old Compton resident, grabbed an intimate body part of the victim. The suspect was located at the scene and arrested.
