Donations sought for emergency preparedness fair

DOWNEY — The city of Downey is soliciting donations for its second annual Emergency Preparedness Fair taking place Saturday, Sept. 28.

The fair will take place at Calvary Chapel Downey from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is designed to encourage the public to better prepare themselves and their families for emergencies.

The city is collecting donations of hot dog links, hot dog buns, small bags of chips, and raffle prizes, such as sporting event tickets, gift cards, or emergency kits.
