Downey adds 8 coronavirus cases, total reaches 244

DOWNEY — Downey added eight new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the city’s total count to 244.

L.A. County confirmed 1,638 new cases on Tuesday and 58 deaths.

Statewide, however, new coronavirus cases have dropped since last week, offering hope that the pandemic is easing as parts of the state prepare to reopen.
