Downey donut shop sells $2 million winning scratcher

DOWNEY – A local donut shop has been identified as the seller of a winning California Lottery ticket worth $2 million.

Mimi’s Donuts, located at 10303 Lakewood Boulevard, sold an Instant Prize Crossword Scratcher that delivered a top prize to player Sonia Santiago.

The $20 Instant Prize Crossword game has been a California Lottery favorite since its release in 2019, offering a maximum prize of $2 million. Santiago was one of three players statewide to recently claim the top prize.

The other winning tickets were sold at a CVS Pharmacy in Glendora and Roosevelt Liquor & Grocery in Redwood City.

Retailers that sell winning tickets receive a bonus from the Lottery, in addition to the player’s prize.
