One of Southern California’s most vibrant cultural celebrations is returning this fall. The 12th annual Downey Día de los Muertos Art Festival will take place on Sunday, November 2, 2025, bringing a full day of music, dance, art, and tradition to the heart of the city.

Recognized by the California State Senate for its contributions to local art, culture, and economic vitality, the festival has grown into a signature community event, drawing thousands of visitors each year. Hosted by the Downey Theatre, the celebration honors the rich heritage of Día de los Muertos while spotlighting Latin artists and performers.

This year’s festival will feature continuous Ballet Folklorico performances, live music, dancing, a beer and wine garden, and a bustling marketplace of artisan vendors. Visitors can also explore a stunning array of traditional fine art—including painting, sculpture, and collage—along with ofrendas, or altars, paying tribute to loved ones who have passed.

Vendor and performer applications are now open. Local artisans, food vendors, and community performers are encouraged to apply at ddlm.downeytheatre.org/participate.
