DRMC featured on news program

DOWNEY -- Downey Regional Medical Center was recently featured on the KCET program, "SoCal Connected," as the news show examined the hospital's challenges in light of area emergency room closures and declining MediCal reimbursement rates.The show, which originally aired Feb. 19, also explains how the hospital has one of the three emergency rooms currently serving the 105 Freeway Axis - down from seven emergency rooms just 10 years ago. Several members of the nursing staff are interviewed for the show, along with Rob Fuller, Downey Regional's chief operating officer. "SoCal Connected" airs throughout Southern and Central California on KCET. New episodes are broadcast Thursdays at 8 p.m., with encores throughout the weekend. The show recently won two Golden Mikes, including Best News Public Affairs Show.
