DOWNEY – Downey Police will conduct a driver’s license and DUI checkpoint Friday, Feb. 20, at an undisclosed location in Downey from 8 p.m. to 3 a.m. Officers will be looking for signs of alcohol or drug impairment while also checking for proper licensing.

Drugs which may impair driving not only include illegal narcotics, but many prescription drugs, marijuana, and even some over-the-counter mediations.

Funding for the checkpoint is provided to the Downey Police Department by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
