Firefighters setting small fires this weekend for training

DOWNEY – The Downey Fire Department will be conducting live fire training this weekend at fire station No. 3, located at 9900 Paramount Blvd.

Residents should not be alarmed if they see flames or heightened activity at the station.

“During the training, we will be setting several small fires within the building and we will be instructing our firefighters on the safest and latest techniques to suppress them,” fire department officials said.
