Former UCLA quarterback Patrick Cowan to visit Porto’s to meet Bruins parents

DOWNEY -- Former UCLA starting quarterback Patrick Cowan will be the special guest at a “Coffee Social Day” on Saturday, Feb. 3, from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Porto’s Bakery.

Coffee Social Day is an opportunity for family members of current UCLA students to foster connections on a regional level, and around the world. The event is part of the 2018 UCLA Parents’ Coffee Social Day and is in its ninth year.

This year, the Southeast Bruins are co-sponsoring the event. Alumni are invited to participate as ambassadors, sharing UCLA knowledge and experiences with Bruin families

Patrick Cowan started for the Bruins in 2006, leading UCLA to an upset of No. 2 USC. The win qualified the Bruins for the Emerald Bowl. Today, Cowan is director of parent philanthropy, young alumni and student giving at UCLA.

Event hosts are Cecilia Gonez (parent, class of 2018) and Ricardo Perez (alumnus, class of 2004).

This is a no-host event and guests are responsible for purchasing their own food and beverages.
