Free movie, dessert at church

DOWNEY - Downey First Christian Church is offering an alternative to long lines and expensive evenings this Valentine's Day - a free movie and dessert night at church.The church will be showing the 2009 inspirational movie, "Fireproof," followed by homemade dessert. Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. and the movie will begin at 6. No childcare will be available. Downey First Christian Church is at 10909 New St., one block north of the Krikorian Theater.
