GOOD hosting 12th annual Ricky Galvez Memorial Golf Tournament

DOWNEY — Gangs Out of Downey (GOOD) is gearing up to host the 12th Annual Officer Ricky Galvez Memorial Golf Tournament, honoring the memory of the fallen Downey police officer while raising funds to support local students.

The tournament will take place Monday, Oct. 6, at the Rio Hondo Golf Course in Downey. Registration opens at 10:30 a.m., followed by lunch at 11 a.m. and a shotgun start at 12 p.m.

The event, established in 2015 following Officer Galvez’s murder, raises money for scholarships awarded to graduating high school seniors in his memory. It also supports GOOD’s youth outreach programs, which foster positive relationships between law enforcement and the community.

Entry fees are $800 for a foursome or $200 for individual golfers. Dinner-only tickets are $50, and tee sign sponsorships are available for $150. Higher-tier sponsorships range from $1,500 to $3,500 and include golf entries, signage, and recognition during the banquet.

In addition to sponsorships, GOOD is seeking raffle prizes and goodie bag donations, including gift cards, event tickets, promotional items, and golf gear. Local businesses are encouraged to get involved through tee signs, table sponsorships, or by hosting a booth at one of the holes.
