Grace was born on September 28, 1927 in Fresno, California to her parents, Michael and Alice Naoum. Grace was the second of three children that included her sister Birdie, and her brother Michael. A few years later the family moved to Los Angeles where Grace’s long and eventful life began.

After graduating from St. Agnes High School in Los Angeles, Grace started a career as a dental assistant, but it was not to be. At a Catholic social club shortly thereafter, she met the love of her life, Sam Domenici. Together they started a life that Grace was fond of saying was “blessed.” Sam and Grace were married February 2, 1947 and soon started creating “the familia” a family of eight, with two daughters and six sons.

In 1951 Sam and Grace moved from Los Angeles to a new post-war tract home in Downey, Ca. Over the next 14 years, the family grew, and Grace, in addition to creating a successful and loving household, managed to keep positive and full of energy. She devoted herself to her family and her religion.

Sam and Grace were founding members of the St. Raymond’s Catholic parish in Downey. Grace was busy at this time facilitating the education of her eight children, joining the Women’s Guild, and helping at numerous church events. Through it all, she was always beautiful and selfless. She was the dream mother.

After Sam retired in 1985, they moved to Carlsbad, Ca where they continued their giving lives. They became members and active parishioners at St. Elizabeth Seton’s Catholic parish and attracted another wonderful group of close friends while enjoying the births of all their grandchildren and great grandchildren. For years their retirement home was the center of many large family gatherings which left their family and friends with years of loving memories.

Grace was a lifelong giver. Her family always came first, but she was also a volunteer for many charitable organizations including volunteer work at Scripps Hospital in Encinitas which continued into her 90s.
