Grammy-winning Cuban artist Alain Pérez to perform at Downey Theatre next month
DOWNEY — Internationally renowned Cuban musician Alain Pérez is set to bring his vibrant blend of traditional Cuban rhythms and contemporary sound to the Downey Theatre on Friday, June 13.
Pérez, a 2021 Latin Grammy winner for Best Traditional Cuban Music Album, has established himself as a pioneering force in Latin music. His genre-spanning work includes acclaimed albums such as Hablando con Juana and ADN, and his recent single, “La Fiesta del Amor,” continues to showcase his signature fusion of salsa, timba, flamenco, and jazz.
Throughout his celebrated career, Pérez has collaborated with some of the most iconic names in music, including Paco de Lucía, Celia Cruz, Chucho Valdés, and Miguel Poveda.
In addition to his own music, Pérez recently produced Poveda’s album Diverso, further solidifying his status as a multifaceted artist and producer.
