'Intensive' English class offered at Cerritos

NORWALK - Registration for Cerritos College's Intensive English Program for the spring 2012 semester is now underway. The program begins in January.In this program, F-1 students will develop English skills and acquire the level of English needed to continue studying in their major field of study. The program costs $1,900 for an eight-week session. The cost covers tuition, assessment testing, orientation and welcome reception, books and class materials, field trips and certificate of completion. There is also a one-time $50 application fee and expenses for a passport, room and board, and more. A prospective international student planning to enroll in the program will need to obtain an F-1 student visa, meet the international student admission requirements and maintain full-time status while studying at Cerritos College. Students who are not from overseas, including California residents, green card holders and U.S. citizens whose second language is English, can also take the class.
