Joan Frey

January 24, 1932 - May 24, 2025

Joan Frey died at the age of 93, she had resided in “Sunrise Senior Living” since moving to Sacramento and after the death of her beloved husband, Chuck Frey, in 2021. She and her husband, Chuck, were involved in many groups in Downey where they lived for 55 years including: Keep Downey Beautiful (over 40 years), Assistance League of Downey, both at the Second Time Around store and the Chapter house (for several decades), and the Moravian Church. She was also actively involved in the Whitter Home Economists in Home and Community, since she taught a variety of adult education courses in the home economist field.

Joan is survived by her children Julie Palmer, Nancy Wilson, and Chuck Frey in addition to their spouses and 5 grandchildren who will miss her.

She will be laid to rest at Mount Vernon Cemetery in the Sacramento area next to her husband in the Veteran’s Court of Honor for his service in the Korean War. Services have not yet been determined.
