Judge David Perkins

Judge David Perkins, age 74, passed away October 19 after a long and valiant battle with cancer.He was a long-time resident of Downey prior to moving to Bermuda Dunes, CA. Judge Perkins retired from Downey Superior Court in February 2005. Before taking the bench he served in every position on the Vernon Fire Department from Fireman to Acting Fire Chief, and from 1977 to 1991, had a successful law practice in Downey. He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Downey. He is survived by his loving wife, Audrey; daughter, Nancy; and nieces Cheryl Ann, Sandra, and Vicki. A memorial service will be held Sat. November 7, at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Christian Worship Center in Downey. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Joanne Barr Memorial Liver Transplant Foundation, c/o Alan Zusman Accountancy Corp., 307 E. Ojai Ave., Suite 200, Ojai, CA 93023; Southeast Area Animal Control Authority (SEAACA) in Downey, or a charity of your choice.
