Kathy Griffin returning to Orange County

COSTA MESA - Emmy Award-winner and Grammy-nominated comedian Kathy Griffin will return to the Orange County Performing Arts Center's Segerstrom Hall on May 15.It will be Griffin's fourth appearance at the Center, and it will feature her now-famous rapid fire acerbic humor that has brought her both fame and a self-imposed place on the mythical D-List. Griffin has released a DVD and also penned her first book, an autobiography titled "A Memoir According to Kathy Griffin." She achieved national recognition during her four-year stint on the NBC sitcom "Suddenly Susan" as Vickie Groener, Brooke Shields' colleague. Griffin also guest starred on such series as "ER" and "Seinfeld," where she created recurring character Sally Weaver. Following her first HBO half-hour comedy special in 1998, the network gave her a one-hour special titled "A Hot Cup of Talk." Griffin also supplied voices for characters on the animated series "Dilbert" and "The Simpsons," and she appeared in a dual role on the "X-Files" as well as in Eminem's video "The Real Slim Shady." For three years, Griffin co-hosted the Billboard Music Awards and appeared on numerous talk shows, including "Late Night with David Letterman," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno," "Howard Stern" and "The View." She participated in and won "Celebrity Mole" on ABC and hosted the NBC reality series "Average Joe" as well as the MTV series "Kathy's So-Called Reality." In 2005, "Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List" premiered on Bravo. The show earned an Emmy nomination for Best Reality Program in 2006 and took the award in the third and fourth seasons.
