Letter to the Editor: Avocado Pitts

Dear Editor:

Now that the region north of Firestone and Rives has been christened Orange Estates, I respectfully submit that the area south thereof be designated Avocado Pitts.

Why Avocado? Because why Orange?

Why Pitts? Because it provides a way to say with ironic pride and perhaps a dash of sass that those of us on the south side of the tracks are well aware of our locale and just as proud of our place in Downey as are our neighbors to the north.
