Letter to the Editor: Downey prioritizes developers over neighborhood aesthetics

Dear Editor:

This is in response to the proposal to replace a Downey church with condos.

I hope the leaders of Downey don’t wind up like most Southeast leaders. Residential concerns and neighborhood aesthetics are pushed aside for the almighty dollar.

Sales tax, rental tax and property tax dollars by those wishing to put up cracker box condos will just rubber stamp any project put before them.

And let’s not forget the gratitude of deep pocket developers, financially speaking of course.
