Letter to the Editor: Fireworks need to go

Dear Editor:

Regarding fireworks, we need to consider the danger to our service workers among many other things.

Many people in Downey are abusing fireworks and storing illegal fireworks in their garage.

We always have a high rate of dry bushes and possible fires.

The police department is too jammed on holidays to handle real emergencies and are caught in negligent people’s carelessness.

Notice to the City of Downey: I will sue you if any harm comes to my property as a result of fireworks. You have been warned.

Do we need a neighborhood to blow up like Ontario or a child burned before we smarten up?

You cannot convince me anyone is that attached to setting off legal fireworks.

Illegal fireworks are big business and are functioning in the City of Downey.

Police do not have the laws they need to hand our fines and arrest people without seeing it.
