Letter to the Editor: Proposition 1

Dear Editor:

Overall I found Mario Guerra’s opinion piece informative and helpful. And the last paragraph on Proposition 30 was hilarious.

However, I am going to disagree with him on Proposition 1. The Supreme Court opened up a can of worms earlier this year and, as a result, women are once again faced with being second class citizens.

But I am so grateful to live in the currently “free state of California.”

I will vote yes on Proposition 1, mainly to try and protect the women of our state from having some radical future California legislature try to change our current laws and restrict our right to make our own choices.

I might have preferred to have some of the details be different, but this is the proposition we are presented with and as a woman, a yes is much better than a no vote.

We women need to stand together to keep our freedoms, as they can easily be taken away by religions and/or men who think they have the right to control us.
