Louis Morales to serve 25th year as Razorbacks president

DOWNEY – Louis Morales will serve as president of Downey Youth Football for a 25th consecutive year, the youth football program announced. 

Serving on his board is Cathy Godinez, vice president; Luis Vasquez, treasurer; Brenda Bryant, secretary; Ashley Olvera, athletic director; Renee Galtman, fundraise coordinator; Raelynn Pacheco, Auxiliary; Roial Douglas, cheer advisor; and Maryann Solis, general member. 

Eduardo Olivo is the Razorbacks’ legal representative, who has served the organization since 2001. 

The Razorbacks are now in its 61st year of competition. Kick-off registration for the 2023 season will take place at the annual “Back to Football Night” on Wednesday, March 8, at 7 p.m. at the historic Parley Johnson House located at 7749 Florence Avenue. 

The Razorbacks offer flag football, tackle football, and cheerleading for participants ages 5-14.

Registration cost for tackle football and cheerleading is $290 and flag football is $200. 

The Razorbacks are part of the SCEYFL-AAU conference, which is composed of 26 member Associations located throughout Southern California. AAU is a national organization offering expanded play and cheerleading events at the regional and national level. 

Practice starts July 24 and the first game is Sept. 9. Home games are played at Downey High School and Warren High School.
