Magician to appear in Whittier

WHITTIER - Magician and illusionist John Gabriel, who has performed in such venues as Caesar's Palace and the Stardust in Las Vegas, will play a more intimate version of his show at the Blue Moon Theatre in Whittier on June 12-13.Hailed by NBC as "magic's hottest new star," Gabriel has escaped from a chained box submerged in a 2,000 pound tank of water, made a two-ton elephant vanish from a stage, predicted the exact outcome of a basketball game three days before it happened, double levitated both himself and an assistant in mid-air, used a slicer to cut a woman into nine pieces and appeared to merge a black dog and a white dog into a Dalmatian. Gabriel's 90-minute show is family-friendly. Performances will be given June 12 at 8 p.m. and June 13 at 5 p.m. Tickets are $10-$35, or five tickets for $50. Tickets may be purchased online at www.bluemoontheatreco.com or by calling (562) 480-7951.
