Mikayla Minnig

Downey resident Mikayla Minnig, 11, received the Progress in Policy Award at the City Club on Bunker Hill in downtown Los Angeles on Dec. 2. The award recognizes her efforts to influence government action to benefit people with arthritis. Mikayla, who had had juvenile arthritis since age 3, is an ambassador for the Arthritis Foundation and has traveled to Washington, D.C. several times on behalf of the 300,000 American children who suffer from arthritis. ********** Published: December 11, 2009 - Volume 8 - Issue 33
