Miss Downey crowned for 2018-19

DOWNEY – Mariah Lora was crowned Miss Downey 2018 at the Downey Rose Float Association’s 64th annual Miss Downey Pageant on April 28 at the Downey Theatre.
Her court includes Leslie Castillo, Tyler Garcia, Christina Ledezma and Giselle Garcia.
Ariana Santillan was crowned Miss Teen Downey. Teen princesses include Natalie Battiest, Valeria Gonzalez and Alexandra Heras.
The title of Junior Miss Downey went to Sofia Gonzalez. Her court includes Mia Jofre Cole, Lorraine Norris and Lainee Rhodes.
Jazlyn Fernandez was crowned Little Miss Downey. Little princesses include Abby Linden and Alexis Givens.
“We are extremely proud to have been hosting the Miss Downey Pageant for 64 years,” the Downey Rose Float Association said in a statement. “Downey produces amazing youth who are smart, talented and compassionate. They serve as ambassadors for the Downey Rose Float and the city in many local events throughout their reign.
“We would like to thank all of the volunteers, sponsors, parents and contestants for another successful year.”
