Partisan bickering

Dear Editor:In response to Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard's misleading assertion that Republicans "refused to support the Seniors Protection Act," the Republicans are the minority in the House. If the bill didn't pass, it was because of bipartisan opposition. And why the bipartisan opposition? Because the people in Congress - even Democrats - are starting to face the sobering facts that the federal government doesn't have the money to pay for these welfare handouts, especially to seniors, a group that is statistically better off financially than working people. Stop with partisan bickering, Ms. Allard. -- Alaina Niemann, Downey
