Police fatally shoot man

DOWNEY - A Downey police officer shot and killed a man Wednesday at about 6:51 p.m. near the intersection of Firestone Boulevard and Old River School Road.The man, described only as a white adult male, was transported to a local hospital where he died, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department, which is investigating the shooting.
