Police release video of suspected store clerk killer

DOWNEY — Downey Police on Thursday released video footage of the man who shot and killed a liquor store clerk in an attempted robbery Tuesday night.

Gurpreet Singh, 44, was shot several times and died behind the counter at ASL Liquor, located at Paramount Boulevard and Telegraph Road. Singh was the store’s co-owner.

Surveillance footage shows the suspect — a slim Hispanic man — enter the store and brandish a silver handgun. He flees after shooting Singh.

The shooter appears to be a Hispanic man in his teens or 20s, with a slim build.

Anyone with information on the suspect’s identity is asked to call Downey Police.
