School collects pet food

DOWNEY - Sussman Middle School held a pet food drive last week for needy families who are having difficulty providing for their pets.The pet food was donated to the non-profit God Provides Food Bank. The local Petco on Firestone Boulevard, in conjunction with Best Friends Animal Sanctuary, is also collecting pet food this week. In addition to the pet food drive, Sussman also held a food drive for humans that benefited Downey families through the PTA HELPS room.
