DOWNEY – The Southeast Area Animal Control Authority is bringing back its popular low-cost spay and neuter programs, “The Big Meow” for cats and “The Big Woof” for dogs, offering discounted veterinary services to residents within SEAACA’s service area.
Under the Big Meow program, qualifying female cats can be spayed for $130 and male cats neutered for $115. The fee includes a microchip, FVRCP vaccination, rabies vaccination and a one-month dose of flea control. Cats must be between 4 months and 4 years old, manageable, and transported in a carrier. A limit of two cats per household applies.
The Big Woof program offers similar services for dogs weighing up to 30 pounds. Female dogs can be spayed for $130, while male dogs can be neutered for $115. Dogs over 30 pounds may still qualify at an additional cost of $5 per pound.
Both programs require a $40 scheduling deposit, which is included in the overall cost.
