Aerojet Rocketdyne has contributed $15,000 to sponsor the Columbia Memorial Space Center's City of STEM Science Festival scheduled to take place April 6-11.

The contribution makes Aerojet Rocketdyne the lead sponsor of City of STEM, a six-day STEM festival that is the first of its kind of the Los Angeles region.

During the week of April 6, the space center will present STEM (science, technology, engineering and math)

DOWNEY – The city of Downey will offer free admission to the Columbia Memorial Space Center from April 7-11 in celebration of the city’s first ever “City of STEM” event, a week-long community-focused celebration of science, technology, engineering and math. During this week, the space center will present STEM programming to the community, engaging diverse audiences at various locations throughout the city.

Guests will enjoy free admission to the space center for the entire week, beginning Tuesday, April 7.

“The Columbia Memorial Space Center not only celebrates our city’s rich aerospace history, but also inspires our youth to become the next generation of space explorers,” said Mayor Luis Marquez. “The City of STEM event will help engage our community through the world of STEM and we’re excited to host this for the first time ever at our space center.”
