Summer camps for kids

DOWNEY - The city of Downey Community Services Department is offering all-day summer camps this year, available in different themes and age groups.Among the camps available are Sports Camp (ages 8-13), Skate Camp (8-12), Adventure Camp (6th-8th graders), Camp Hollywood (8-13) and Wilderness Camp (6-10). Each camp is $120 per week per child and includes care from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., mid-week excursion and a daily snack. Partial day camps are offered for children ages 7-12. These camps include Top Chef, CSI and Mythbusters camps. Cost is $115 per week with care from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tennis camp for children ages 6-17 is $150 per week and is offered from 9 a.m. to noon.
