Theresa Ann Henshaw
February 20, 1942 - June 18, 2025
Theresa (“Terri”) Ann Henshaw would like to let you know that she accepted her call home on 06-18-2025 at 5:31p.m. and has left us. She passed peacefully with family at her side. She received the call home after 83 years on this earth and after a long battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. Which, she wanted us to tell you, was not on her bucket list but she accepted the challenge and put up a good fight. With her new move, she had to say goodbye to her family and numerous friends still here. However, she will be reunited with her parents (Henry Oliver Harvey & Nora Harvey) and her brothers (Henry Jr. and Robert) all of which await her. Also, her beloved husband of 63 years Dennis and oldest son Todd await her arrival. This reunion with family and friends, some of whom she has not seen in a long time was exactly why, while still here, she chose to work in the medical field helping others for decades, and to lend a hand or an ear to anyone when needed. She was special. She did a wonderful job as a sister, daughter, aunt, mother, grandmother, wife, friend and neighbor while growing up and living in Downey for over 60 years. She and Dennis had moved to Big Bear about 15 years ago, but she has now deservedly moved to where there is no more pain, no more sorrow, where food is calorie free, coffee is always hot and the beer (fingers crossed) is always cold, she deserves it all.
Terri wanted everyone to be happy. So before she left, she added that sadness about her passing was not an option and will not be tolerated. Smile at someone, call a friend you haven’t spoken to in a long time, laugh at an old memory of Terri, tell those that you love what they mean to you, or pay something forward if you can.
We also want to let her know that she did a great job while here and we wish her a safe journey. Always extremely proud of her three boys, her surviving sons Troy (Shelly) and Ty Henshaw will remember her love, her cheerfulness, her graciousness, her warmth, her energy, her love for life, her love of Christmas, chili cook-offs, family and friends, bunco with the girls, Cheez-Its and of course, a cold beer. Godspeed Terri Ann.
