Warren's Vocal Ensemble is tops at jazz festival

DOWNEY - The Warren High School Vocal Ensemble took first place at the 37th annual Fullerton College Jazz Festival last weekend.The festival is one of the largest and most prestigious festivals of its kinds, school officials said. Directed by Robert Petersen, Warren's Vocal Ensemble is an advanced choral group that participates in community events as well as competitive festivals. On April 24, they will travel with the Warren Concert Choir to compete in the 3-day Heritage Festival in San Diego. John Harris, principal at Warren, congratulated the vocal ensemble on their achievement. "We are very proud of our vocal music program here at Warren," Harris said.
