Whittier chorale announces 2023-24 season

WHITTIER — Chorale Bel Canto of Whittier has announced its 2023-24 season and tickets are now on sale.

The season gets underway Saturday, Dec. 2, with “An English Christmas” at East Whittier United Methodist Church. The program includes Gerald Finzi (“In Terra Pax), Ralph Vaughan Williams (“Fantasia on Christmas Carols”), and Gustav Holst (“Christmas Day”).

The choir will also be joined by the Whittier Children’s Chorus for Christmas carols.

The next concert is Saturday, March 16, at 4 pm at First Friends Church. The program is titled “Back to the Future: Cantatas Debuted 300 Years Ago.”

Finishing the season is “Picnic of the World,” taking place Saturday, May 18, at 4 pm at Whittier College’s Memorial Chapel. This concert will feature choral settings of folk songs from around the world, with an appearance by the Whittier Children’s Chorus.

Single tickets range from $10-$35 and season subscriptions run from $80-$90. Tickets can be purchased online at https://choralebelcanto.org/
