NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT
PLN-26-00005
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held before the DOWNEY CITY PLANNING COMMISSION on the 1st day of April, 2026, at 6:30 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the Downey City Hall, 11111 Brookshire Avenue, Downey, California. At that time and place, consideration will be given to the following:
CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT (PLN-26-00005):
A request for an existing restaurant (Emporio Sushi & Mariscos), to revise the previously approved Conditional Use Permit (CUP) to upgrade from a Type 41 (On-Sale Beer and Wine) Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) license to a Type 47 ABC (On-Sale General) license which would allow the sale of beer, wine, and distilled spirits for on-site consumption with full-service restaurant at 11949 Paramount Boulevard, within the C-1 (neighborhood Commercial Zone).
All interested parties are invited to submit written comments and/or to attend and give testimony. The agenda and staff report, which provides a detailed description and analysis of this project, will be posted to the City Boards and Commission Meetings page of the City’s website (http://www.downeyca.org) on the Friday prior to the public hearing.
As required by the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), this request has been found to be Categorically Exempt from CEQA, per CEQA Guideline Section No. 15301 (Class 1, Existing Facilities).
