County looks to honor green leaders

LOS ANGELES - L.A. County is now accepting applications for its Green Leadership Awards program, honoring residents, businesses, local governments and community-based organizations that show "innovative and creative solutions to challenges involving environmental issues.""As one of the largest employers in Southern California, the County of Los Angeles practices and promotes good environmental stewardship," said county CEO William Fujioka. "The Green Leadership Awards program provides a unique opportunity for the Board of Supervisors to recognize the outstanding efforts of both the private and public sectors to improve environmental sustainability." Applications are online at lacounty.gov. Deadline is Feb. 22.
