Free prom dresses for Downey girls

DOWNEY - The Assisteens, a youth service organization affiliated with the Assistance League of Downey, is giving away complete prom and winter formal outfits to girls who cannot afford one.Girls can receive a free dress, jewelry, make-up, purse, shoes and discounts to local hair salons. The giveaway will take place Jan. 26 from 12-2 p.m. at the Parley Johnson house at 7749 Florence Ave. Girls who cannot attend that day can make an appointment by calling Stacy Brabant at (310) 991-3757.
