Students invited to JSA convention
BELL GARDENS - Constitutional lawyer, lecturer, writer and political activist Stephen Rohde will give the keynote speech when the Southern California Junior State of America hosts its first Tri-Regional One-Day Conference this Saturday at Bell Gardens High School.Rodhe is founder and chair of Interfaith Communities United for Justice and Peace and chair of the ACLU Foundation of Southern California. The conference is intended for high school students. JSA is the largest high school student-run organization in the country and supports civic engagement among youth. The conference starts at 10 a.m. Admission is $5 for students.
