Church offers financial class

DOWNEY - Downey First Christian Church is hosting a 9-week financial management course, taught on DVD by financial expert Dave Ramsey, with the first class scheduled for April 7 from 2-4 p.m.Through videos, class discussions and interactive small group activities, Financial Peace University teaches "God's way of handling money" and shows students how to get rid of debt, manage their money, spend and save wisely, and more. The average class participant pays off $5,300 and saves $2,700 in the first 13 weeks of applying class principles, church officials said. Students are required to purchase a lifetime membership for the class.
