Police collecting unwanted prescriptions

DOWNEY - Residents with expired or unwanted prescription drugs can safely dispose of them at the Downey Police Department on April 27.Police officials and volunteers will be collecting the drugs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The collection is part of an effort to rid homes of unwanted and potentially dangerous drugs, which can be abused and misused. Over-the-counter medications can be dropped off but sharps and needles will not be accepted.
