Razorback now taking sign-ups
DOWNEY - Downey Youth Football will hold its first open registration for the 2013 season this Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Furman Park.The league offers flag football, tackle football and cheerleading to boys and girls ages 5-14. New game jerseys and color schemes will be introduced this season, along with new spirit wear for both football and cheer. Registration cost is $180 for tackle football, $120 for flag football and cheerleading. Registration includes trophy, league picture package, yearbook and game socks. All equipment is provided on loan. Payment plans are available but registration must be paid in full by June 1. Practices start July 29 and are held at Rio San Gabriel Park under real sports lights. Home games are played at Downey High School. The Downey Razorbacks are part of the Pacific Coast Conference, which belongs to American Youth Football, the largest youth football organization in America.
