Stay Gallery plans summer construction

DOWNEY - As some of you may know, we've been hard at work in coordinating with several groups in planning, designing and funding the necessary structural renovations to create a multi-functional space for our community's enjoyment. We are happy to announce that construction will begin in late July. Thanks to the generous help of local companies like Alvarez Design, Javier Borrani Design, Downey Home Depot, Western Allied Construction, Chirco Heating & Air, and the city of Downey, our dream space is now becoming a reality. Special thanks to Mary Stauffer for always believing in our vision and encouraging us from day one.

In the meantime, our team will continue developing exhibits, events and workshops. We will open a new exhibit in September featuring the work of renowned local photographer Andrew Quesada. We are also planning a few smaller events during construction.

We're currently accepting applications for workshop instructors in drawing, painting and photography. If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in leading a workshop, let us know!

Being that Stay Gallery is operated by local non-profit Downey Art Vibe, the next fundraising campaign (the "Here to Stay" project) is currently in the works and will be made public during Stay Gallery's first year anniversary on Oct. 11. We'll be reaching out to local businesses, corporations and individuals to help reach our fundraising goal. The Here to Stay project aims to further Downey Art Vibe's mission and ensure economic sustainability.

If you are interested in becoming a sponsor or want to learn more about our upcoming campaign, please contact us at info@stay-gallery.com.
