Crime Report

Saturday, Feb. 8At 3:50 p.m., officers responded to the 9100 block of Margaret Ave. regarding narcotic activity. Officers searched the area and found and arrested a female adult to be in possession of methamphetamine.

At 9:50 p.m., an officer observed two subjects fighting to the front of the Krikorian Movie Theater. The subjects were placed under arrest for assault for causing a disturbance.

Sunday, Feb. 9 At 8:35 a.m., officers located a vehicle parked to the rear of 9565 Firestone, which matched the description of a vehicle used in an armed robbery a few days prior. No subjects were seen in the area. The vehicle was impounded and processed for DNA evidence.

At 1:00 p.m., a resident in the 8300 block of Gallatin called to report that their home had been burglarized. It appears that the suspect(s) pried open a rear window to gain access. Once inside, the suspects removed several items belonging to the victim. Detectives are investigating.

At 6:30 p.m., officers responded to a traffic hazard at 7550 Firestone. They discovered a pothole approximately 2' wide and 4" deep. Two motorists stopped to file reports due to damage caused to their vehicle as they drove through the pothole. Public works responded and repaired the damage.

At 7:15 p.m., a male was walking through the Stonewood Mall parking lot on the west side, when he got into a verbal altercation with a passing motorist who nearly collided into him. The victim then entered the mall to go shopping. When he later exited the mall, he was re-contacted by the motorist and they again began to argue. At that time another vehicle arrived and a second suspect exited the vehicle. This suspect was armed with a large wrench and struck the victim in the head causing a small laceration. Both suspects then drove away in their separate vehicles. Detectives are investigating. Information provided by Downey Police Department.
