David Bitticks was WWII veteran
DOWNEY - David Lawrence Bitticks, 90, died at his home in Sebastopol, Calif. on Feb. 3.He is survived by his wife, Florence Aaby Bitticks; daughters, Ann Philipp (John) of Sebastopol, and Alyce Bitticks (Ronal Alston) of Greensboro, N.C.; granddaughters Carina Bitticks-Alston of Durham, N.C., and Aldea and Jena Bitticks-Alston, of Greensboro; sisters Grace Horney (Norman), of Downey, and Leslie Brown, of Portland, Ore.; and many nieces and nephews. David was born in El Paso, Tex., on Oct. 9, 1923 to Glenn and Viola Bitticks. He grew up in Miami, Okla., before making his home in Downey. He attended Kansas State University and graduated from USC. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and assisted in removing the Nazis from Italy. David worked as a civil engineer for the state of California for more than 30 years. He was predeceased by his parents; brothers Glenn, Robert, Ross and Phillip Bitticks; and sister, Ellen Lloyd.
